OUR MISSION

Our mission, at Donna Hechler Porter, Tutor, is to turn students of all ages into intentional and high-functioning readers and writers through systematic approaches and frameworks for problem solving. By combining old-fashioned, time-honored, and modern techniques, readers and writers are propelled into the future they were destined for. After all, learning is not just for the present or for the young, but for everyone and for a lifetime.

ABOUT US

ABOUT DONNA

Donna entered education at the tender age of six, when she would come home from school, line her stuffed animals and dolls into rows, and teach them what she learned that day. She went on to develop a love of reading and writing and decided she wanted to become an author in fifth grade. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in education and a specialty in reading. It was while teaching that she she also developed a passion for the craft of writing, both personally and as an educator. She has since published over ten books, including five award-winning novels.

When not writing or teaching, she rescues old furniture from the side of the road, stops at all garage sales, and never meets a thrift store she doesn't fall in love with! Her twin sons are leaving the nest, but she still lives with embarrasingly way too many animals even as she longs for a log cabin in the woods.

Donna has created Donna Hechler Porter, Tutor, to expand her love of reading and writing to help more students, young and old alike, fall into the magic of words and pens and to launch themselves into the futures they were destined for!
